Skoda India has plenty to celebrate, as its entry level compact SUV, the Kylaq, has reached the 30,000 sales milestone in just eight months since its launch in late 2024. This achievement is big because the Kylaq alone now contributes 65% of Skoda’s total sales in India and becomes the brand’s main growth engine.

The Kylaq’s sales journey has been nothing short of impressive, as it became Skoda’s best-selling locally produced car in February 2025, overtaking the Slavia and Kushaq. March 2025 was the best month of Kylaq with 5,364 units sold. Sales have constantly increased, jumping from 10,205 units in Q1 to 13,509 units in Q2 and even in July-August,
it added 6,476 units.

The Kylaq is available in seven variants, priced between Rs 7.55 lakh and Rs 12.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Due to the recent 10% GST cut, prices dropped by as much as Rs 1.19 lakh, making Kylaq even more attractive to buy.
Skoda Kylaq is packed with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 115 bhp and 178 Nm torque, paired with manual or automatic gearboxes. Despite being powerful, it remains fuel efficient with 19+ kmpl (kilometer per liter) mileage and can touch a top speed of 188 kph (kilometer per hour).
Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which is shared with Kushaq and VW Taigun, the Kylaq offers a spacious cabin for four, a 10-inch infotainment screen, sunroof and electrically adjustable front seats.

Safety is a big highlight too as the Kylaq comes with six airbags as standard and has been rated the best-performing compact SUV in Bharat NCAP, scoring 30.88/32 for adult and 45/49 for child protection. With its mix of style, safety, features, strong pricing, and fuel efficiency, the Skoda Kylaq is not just another SUV, but it is a model that is redefining Skoda’s success in India.
