Mahindra has released a new teaser for the upcoming XEV 9S, offering a closer look at the electric SUV’s cabin features just days before its unveiling on November 27. The latest clip focuses on second-row
comfort, confirming that the three-row EV will offer a “Boss Mode” setup along with reclining rear seats.
The Boss Mode function moves the front passenger seat forward at the press of a button, opening up extra legroom for the rear occupant. It’s the kind of feature more commonly associated with chauffeur-driven luxury cars, hinting that Mahindra is positioning the XEV 9S as a more premium alternative in the electric SUV space. The second row will also get a reclining backrest, adding another layer of comfort.

This teaser follows several others released in the past week. Earlier visuals confirmed that the XEV 9S will use a three-screen layout stretching across the dashboard, a driver display, a central touchscreen, and a passenger-side entertainment screen. This setup mirrors what Mahindra introduced on the smaller XEV 9e, and suggests that the brand’s EV portfolio will share a consistent digital architecture.
Mahindra has also shown that the front seats will come with a memory function offering three presets. While the footage clearly shows this for the driver’s seat, the company is expected to offer the same convenience for the front passenger as well.
In terms of cabin practicality, the XEV 9S will be configured as a 7-seater. The second-row bench appears to be adjustable, allowing it to slide forward for easier third-row access or backward to increase legroom for middle-row occupants. A panoramic sunroof is also visible in the teaser, and given its resemblance to the XEV 9e unit, it may feature illuminated elements that enhance the cabin’s ambience.

The SUV will come equipped with a Harman Kardon sound system. While not officially confirmed, Dolby Atmos support is likely, considering Mahindra’s recent focus on immersive in-car entertainment. The Mahindra XEV 9S will be officially unveiled in India on November 27, with more details on variants, battery options, and pricing expected on launch day.
