Mercedes-Benz has added another big achievement to its name, as its CLA model, both in petrol and electric versions, has earned a full 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which is one of the world’s most trusted vehicle safety bodies. This means the car performed exceptionally well in crash tests and safety evaluations, making it one of the safest cars on the road today.
Mercedes-Benz is known for its luxury, performance and solid engineering, but in recent years, the brand has been putting even more emphasis on safety. And as a result the 2025 CLA has secured the company’s safety cycle with outstanding scores, which are-
- 94% adult occupant protection
- 89% child safety
- 93% protection for pedestrians and cyclists

Euro NCAP (European New Car
Assessment Programme) is known for its extremely tough and independent crash tests. In 2025, they evaluated more car models than any other year in their history, which shows how fast the automotive world is evolving.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA wasn’t the only car to shine. Several others also earned five stars, including- Mazda CX-5, Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen T-Roc, Deepal S05 and Hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo.
The Mazda CX-5 matched the CLA’s 93% score for protecting vulnerable road users like pedestrians, cyclists and scooter riders.
One important trend highlighted by Euro NCAP is the impact of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which are the smart safety features that help prevent accidents. These include features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and more.
Many cars today come with ADAS as optional packages, like the Kia EV4 scored 4 stars in its standard form, but with the optional DriveWise Safety Pack, it upgraded to 5 stars.
Aled Williams, Programme Director at Euro NCAP, said that 2025 has seen “impressive scores roll in,” adding that carmakers are continually improving safety thanks to strong, independent testing. With tougher standards and more cars being evaluated, companies are now competing not just in style or performance, but also in how safe they can make their vehicles.
