Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has added a new Cadillac Escalade to his luxury car collection, and the full-size American SUV is already drawing attention. Reports suggest the imported Escalade is valued between Rs 4 crore and Rs 5 crore depending on specifications and import duties. The SUV was recently spotted outside the actor’s residence and has quickly become one of the most talked-about celebrity cars in India right now. And honestly, part of the fascination comes from the fact that the Escalade remains relatively rare in India compared to the usual Range Rover and Mercedes-Maybach SUVs frequently seen with celebrities.
The Cadillac Escalade Is Built Very Differently From Typical Luxury SUVs
The Cadillac Escalade is not subtle in any way. It’s a massive full-size luxury SUV originally designed around the American
market, and that becomes obvious the moment you look at its proportions. The SUV is over 5.3 metres long and focuses heavily on rear-seat comfort, road presence and luxury-focused features.
Several industry reports suggest Shah Rukh Khan’s Escalade uses a large V8 petrol engine, likely the 6.2-litre naturally aspirated unit seen internationally. Depending on the specification, this engine produces around 420 hp and 624 Nm.
Inside, the SUV is known for its large curved digital display setup, multiple luxury seating configurations and premium audio systems. Higher variants internationally also get features like Super Cruise driver-assistance technology, air suspension as well as extensive rear-seat entertainment packages. This is exactly why the Escalade feels different from most luxury SUVs commonly seen in India. It prioritises sheer size and presence more than sporty driving dynamics.

Why The Escalade Is Suddenly Getting So Much Attention
Luxury SUVs are nothing unusual in Bollywood anymore. But the Escalade stands out because Cadillac officially has a very limited presence in India compared to German luxury brands or Land Rover. That naturally makes imported Escalades far rarer on Indian roads. Rarity itself becomes part of the appeal in celebrity car culture now.
Shah Rukh Khan already owns several high-end luxury vehicles, including Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz and BMW models. The Escalade adds something visually different to that collection because American full-size SUVs are still relatively uncommon in India’s ultra-luxury market.
The timing also matters. Indian celebrity car culture has shifted heavily toward large luxury SUVs over the last few years because buyers increasingly prioritise rear-seat comfort, privacy and road presence over traditional luxury sedans. And the Escalade probably represents one of the most extreme versions of that trend currently possible.
