Hero MotoCorp has quietly slipped in a big update to one of its most popular streetfighters. The Xtreme 160R now gets cruise control, a first for any motorcycle in its class. Priced at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom), the new variant sits above the existing Double Disc OBD2B trim, while the non–cruise control version continues at Rs 1.29 lakh. The addition of cruise control is the only major change, but it’s enough to give the Xtreme 160R a fresh headline in a segment that’s getting increasingly feature-driven.
Mechanically, the motorcycle stays true to what it has always been. Power comes from the 163.2 cc air-cooled engine that produces 16.9 hp at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The familiar tubular
underbone diamond frame continues, along with a box-type swingarm. The clutch remains a standard wet multi-plate unit.

Ride quality is handled by KYB 37 mm USD forks up front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a 276 mm petal disc at the front and a 220 mm petal disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. Hero has also packed in a panic brake alert system, another first in this class, which flashes the tail lamp under heavy braking.

The Xtreme 160R continues with its full-LED lighting setup, including LED headlamps with position lamps, LED tail-lamps, and LED indicators. The multicolour LCD speedometer remains, now joined by a drag race timer. In terms of dimensions, the bike measures 2,029 mm in length, 793 mm in width, and 1,052 mm in height. Seat height is a friendly 800 mm, and ground clearance stands at 165 mm. The 12-litre fuel tank should keep it practical for city use, while the kerb weight of 147.5 kg keeps things manageable.
