Yamaha has revised prices of the Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in India. The standard variant is now priced at Rs 1.43 lakh, while the higher-spec Version S, with exclusive colour options and a dedicated smart key system, costs Rs 1.46 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices. The Aerox 155 has an aggressive stance, and is considered as one of one of the most performance-focused scooter in its segment for budget conscious buyers. While Yamaha has not announced reasons behind the price hike, it comes at a time when several manufacturers across two-wheelers and four-wheelers are struggling with rising input and operational costs in the country. Yamaha Aerox 155 Price Hike

Yamaha has implemented a uniform price hike of Rs 2,800 across the Aerox 155 range. The adjustment seems to be due to rising input and logistics costs, which the company has passed on to the buyers. Following the price adjustment, the Standard variant of the Aerox 155 now retails for Rs 1.43 lakh. On the other hand, the more feature-rich Version S, which gives buyers access to a keyless start/stop system and a smart key, is priced at Rs 1.46 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

Yamaha Aerox 155 Design, and Engine

The Yamaha Aerox has a bold, maxi-scooter design. Unlike the typical scooters, which have flat floorboards, the Aerox has a spine design that houses the fuel tank, making the Aerox look like a motorcycle. The front bosts slender, dual LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The sharp body panels, slightly high-set tail section adds to the sporty look. The scooter seems to be an ideal option for those riders who want the convenience of an automatic transmission without sacrificing the muscular presence of a sportbike.

At its heart, the Aerox 155 has the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is also found in the Yamaha R15. The unit produces 14.79hp and 13.9Nm. For safety, the Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a Traction Control System (TCS), and single-channel ABS.
