In India’s premium performance SUV segment, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a more focused and sportier version of its popular coupe SUV, the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe Performance Edition. Priced at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom), this new model adds performance-oriented features while keeping the core strengths of the standard AMG GLE Coupe.
What’s New In The Performance Edition
The Performance Edition is priced around Rs 7 lakh more than the standard version. The key difference comes from the inclusion of the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard. This package adds advanced features that improve driving performance and handling, making the SUV more engaging to drive.
Performance
One of the major upgrades is active roll stabilisation, which helps keep the car
stable while taking corners at higher speeds. The SUV also gets ventilated and perforated brake discs, red brake calipers and larger 22-inch alloy wheels. Another highlight is the AMG Track Pace app, which provides real-time driving data like speed and performance stats.
Design
In terms of design, the Performance Edition remains similar to the standard AMG GLE Coupe. It continues to feature LED headlamps, a large AMG grille, and a sloping coupe-style roofline. The rear gets LED tail-lamps, a spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. Small additions like side steps and sporty detailing enhance its overall look without changing its identity.

Interior And Features
Inside, the SUV offers a premium and tech-loaded cabin. It comes with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and driver information, along with a head-up display. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and four-zone climate control. The front seats are powered and offer ventilation, heating, and memory functions. A Burmester sound system adds to the overall luxury experience.
Engine And Performance
The Performance Edition continues with the same 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine. It produces 435 hp and 520 Nm torque and is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. This means the SUV delivers strong acceleration and smooth performance. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, which is very quick for a large luxury SUV.
