The Mahindra XEV 9e follows a coupe-SUV roofline and seats five passengers. Its shorter body and sloping rear give it a sportier
silhouette. Meanwhile, the XEV 9S sticks to a traditional upright-SUV design and offers a third row, making it a seven-seater ideal for larger families or buyers needing extra passenger space. For those seeking everyday practicality, the XEV 9S’s larger footprint and flexible seating layout clearly give it an edge.
Mahindra XEV 9e Vs XEV 9S: Battery And Range
Both EVs draw power from similar battery-motor combos, but their variant and tuning options lead to slightly different output. The XEV 9e is available with 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery packs. The XEV 9S adds a middle 70 kWh option besides the 59 and 79 kWh choices.
On paper, the XEV 9e’s larger pack offers up to 656 km range, while the XEV 9S with 79 kWh is rated 679 km. However, real-world conditions and packaging may affect actual range and buyers must keep this in mind.
Mahindra XEV 9e Vs XEV 9S: Performance
On performance aspect too, both deliver comparable electric motor output. The XEV 9e’s higher trim and the XEV 9S variants with larger packs achieve around 281 hp and 380 Nm torque. Acceleration and electric responsiveness remain strong across both SUVs.
