Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Details Revealed Ahead Of India Launch

Volkswagen India has officially revealed key details of its upcoming flagship SUV, the Tayron R-Line, ahead of its launch in India. This is an important announcement as the Tayron R-Line, which is a seven-seater

SUV, will sit at the top of Volkswagen’s India lineup, positioned above the already premium Tiguan R-Line.

The Tayron R-Line arrives in India roughly 12 months after its global debut in Europe and Volkswagen has confirmed that the SUV has received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

On the outside, the Tayron R-Line follows Volkswagen’s latest SUV design language as it features illuminated light signatures at both the front and rear. The wide stance and clean surfaces help it stand out as a flagship model. Another highlight is the long wheelbase of 2,789 mm and 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, further enhancing its premium appeal. According to Volkswagen, the proportions and styling are carefully designed to make the Tayron feel strong, confident and protective on the road.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line - Spacious, High-Tech Interior

From the inside, the Tayron R-Line focuses on space, comfort and digital technology. The dashboard features a horizontal layout that makes the cabin feel wider and more open. At the centre is a large 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, angled slightly towards the driver for easier access and better usability. Volkswagen has confirmed that the Tayron R-Line is a proper seven-seater, with three rows of seating designed to be usable.

The front seats come with ergoActive Plus seating, which includes premium Varenna leather upholstery, active ventilation, and a 10-point pressure massage function. A panoramic sunroof adds to the airy feel of the cabin. With the third row folded down, the Tayron R-Line offers 850 litres of boot space.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Positioning and What’s Next

Volkswagen India has confirmed that the Tayron R-Line will become the brand’s new flagship SUV, joining models like the Taigun, Virtus, Tiguan R-Line and the performance-focused Golf GTI. Details about engine options, pricing and exact launch dates will be revealed soon.

Commenting on the reveal, Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said the Tayron R-Line is designed to combine strength on the outside with calmness and comfort inside, reflecting modern German luxury.
