The Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition has been launched in India at Rs 87 lakh (ex-showroom). This debut adds a limited-run version of one of the most powerful hatchbacks currently on sale. This matters because it brings a more track-focused variant to a niche but growing performance car space. This edition is based on the standard A45 S but introduces a factory-fitted aerodynamic package. Importantly, there are no mechanical changes, which means the focus is on styling, airflow management, and exclusivity rather than added performance.
Engine, Performance And Key Numbers
The Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition continues with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission paired
with AMG’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
Performance figures remain unchanged, with 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 270 km/h (with the AMG Driver’s Package). These numbers already place it at the top of the performance hatchback category. The Aero Track Edition does not aim to improve these figures but builds on them with a more track-oriented visual setup.
Aero Kit, Design And What’s Different
The key change lies in the aerodynamic package. This includes a large fixed rear wing, extended front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser elements designed to improve airflow and high-speed stability.
The car also features specific decals and visual highlights, distinguishing it from the standard A45 S. Inside, the layout remains largely unchanged, with performance-focused seats and dual digital displays continuing as before.
There are no additional feature upgrades. The differences are focused on design and aerodynamic enhancements rather than new technology.

Pricing, Limited Numbers And Buyer Impact
At Rs 87 lakh (ex-showroom), the Aero Track Edition commands a premium over the standard model as it costs about Rs 5.5 lakh more than before. The higher price reflects its limited availability and added aero components.
For buyers, the core performance remains identical. The decision is therefore not about speed or features but about exclusivity as well as visual differentiation.
In practical terms, this is a niche offering. It targets buyers who want a more distinctive version of an already high-performance hatchback, rather than those looking for incremental performance gains.
