Electric cars are often seen as quiet, sensible machines built mainly for efficiency. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N aims to break that image completely. With UK order books now open and prices starting at (euro) £65,800, this new model shows how far electric performance cars have come and how exciting they can be, even for buyers new to fast cars.
The Ioniq 6 N is Hyundai’s second high-performance electric car, following the successful Ioniq 5 N. Compared to the regular Ioniq 6, this version is a major upgrade, designed not just to look sporty but to deliver genuine performance. Power comes from a dual-motor setup producing 641bhp, which allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 3.2 seconds. That’s supercar-level speed in a sleek four-door saloon. Top speed is an equally impressive 160mph. Despite these numbers, Hyundai has made sure the car remains usable every day. The Ioniq 6 N uses an 84kWh battery, which delivers an official driving range of 486 km (302 miles) on a full charge. To make the driving experience more engaging, Hyundai has added several performance-focused upgrades, which include electronically adjustable dampers, which can soften or stiffen the suspension depending on how you drive, and an electronic limited-slip differential, helping the car maintain grip when accelerating hard. For drivers unfamiliar with electric performance, Hyundai has also refined its simulated sequential gearbox, complete with paddle shifters and a new sound system. While the car has no real gears, this system makes driving feel more familiar and interactive. The Ioniq 6 N also looks the part. Visual changes include a rear spoiler, front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, all designed to improve stability at speed. It sits on 20-inch alloy wheels with wide Pirelli P Zero tyres, while large performance brakes ensure strong stopping power. Also Read: Citroen Launches Aircross X Max 5-Seater And C3 Live (O) SUVs - Details Inside
Inside, the cabin gets an N-specific steering wheel, extra drive mode controls and sporty bucket seats, shared with the Ioniq 5 N. Buyers can choose from six exterior colours, with white as standard and optional metallic or matte finishes available at extra cost. A panoramic glass roof is also offered.
Overall, the Hyundai
Ioniq 6 N proves that electric cars can be fast, engaging and practical—all at the same time.
