BMW Motorrad India has just rolled out its new S 1000 R hyper-naked roadster at a starting price of Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings have opened at authorised BMW Motorrad showrooms across India, where dealers are now taking pre-orders. Carrying forward the big-bike lineage with that 999cc mill, top-tier chassis parts, and some slick electronics – think massive horses under the tank, next-level tech gear, and sharp style tweaks to keep heads turning on every street it claws through. It seems like BMW has aimed this model squarely at riders who want naked performance with high specifications.

Under the tank sits a strong 999cc inline-four motor that
makes 170 hp and 114 Nm of torque. This engine pairs with a six-speed transmission for a better ride. As per the brand, the bike can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, while the top speed stands at 250 km/h. The stated dry weight of the S 1000 R is about 199 kg, which helps its quick handling and speed common to naked sport bikes in this class.
