KTM has globally launched the 2026 990 RC R, its first fully road-legal supersport motorcycle in years. Based on the platform of the 990 Duke, this new model takes the aggressive performance of the naked
bike and wraps it in an aerodynamic fairing and race-oriented hardware. Designed with the track in mind but homologated for the road, the 990 RC R marks KTM’s return to the high-performance supersport segment.

2026 KTM 990 RC R: Design And Aerodynamics
The RC R adopts a fully faired design, making it visually distinct from the Duke platform it is based on. KTM has focused on aerodynamic efficiency, equipping the bike with integrated winglets, an aggressive front cowl, and a sculpted fuel tank designed to support a racing tuck. The fairing is inspired by MotoGP machines, and the adjustable subframe and footpeg setup allow riders to dial in their preferred ergonomics.
2026 KTM 990 RC R: Features And Equipment
The 990 RC R comes equipped with adjustable WP APEX suspension, top-spec Brembo Stylema brakes, and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres. Electronics include multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, and a quickshifter. A 5-inch TFT display handles instrumentation with track-specific data screens. Riders can also disable rider aids for closed-circuit use, making the motorcycle adaptable for both street and track.
2026 KTM 990 RC R: Engine And Performance
Powering the supersport is the same 947cc parallel-twin LC8c engine used in the 990 Duke. It delivers 128 hp and 103 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike’s dry weight is kept low at 179 kg, helping maximise power-to-weight ratio. KTM claims the RC R is tuned for sharper throttle response and corner exit performance, making it its most focused track-legal offering in years.
2026 KTM 990 RC R: Price
The 2026 KTM 990 RC R has been launched globally, with sales set to begin in mid-2025 in international markets. For the US market, it carries a price tag of USD 13,949, which roughly translates to Rs 12.38 lakh.

2026 KTM 990 RC R: India Launch Timeline
KTM has confirmed the RC R for global markets, with India likely to get it via the CBU route. If launched here, it will sit above the current RC 390 and directly compete with models like the Yamaha R7 and the Aprilia RS 660.
