Yamaha has launched the 2026 YZF-R25 in Malaysia with new colour options – Icon Blue and Mint Green. The entry-level sportbike carries a price tag of RM 23,098 (excluding registration and insurance) in Malaysia, and is currently not available in India. Yamaha currently offers a range of performance-oriented models in the market, including the Yamaha R15, MT-15, MT-03, and the new XSR 155. While there is no official confirmation, the YZF-R25 as one of the most popular lightweight performance motorcycles globally, is anticipated to go on sale in India sometime soon, and bridge the gap between Yamaha R15M and the Yamaha R3. This will allow young and seasoned riders in India to go for an option that strikes a balance between affordability, practically
and track-inspired design. Here’s all you need to know about the new colours, and other specifications of the new Yamaha R25.
2026 Yamaha R25: New Colours, Same Design
Yamaha has added new colours called the Icon Blue, and Mint Green to make the R25 more visually competitive. The Icon Blue colour scheme is similar to that of finish already available for the R15 in India. It honours Yamaha's global racing identity, and adds to the sporty vibe. The signature metallic blue shade is adorned across the fairings, fuel tank and front fender, and is contrasted by matte dark grey or black panels on the lower sections. The blue alloy and gold-anodised USD front forks further enhance the appeal of the bike, and make it more race-inspired, and aggressive. Other than this, the bike retains its core design.
The Mint Green colour, on the other hand, offers a more street-style appeal to the bike. The soft, pastel-like green colour covers the body panels, while the black and red graphics, as well as a few matte black elements, add to the contrast. In comparison to the Icon Blue variant, the Mint Green R25 model gets black alloy wheels highlighted with subtle red pinstripes.
2026 Yamaha R25: Engine
The new iteration of the Yamaha R25 carries forward the same same 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 34.9bhp of maximum power and 22.6Nm of peak torque.

2026 Yamaha R25: Will it Come to India?
For now, there is no official word from Yamaha on the launch of the R25 in India. However, if the bike will go on sale here, it is likely to become a strong contender to models such as the KTM 250 Duke, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Hero Xtreme 250R, and Bajaj Pulsar N250. Owing to its twin-cylinder energy, the R25 could be an alternative option to slightly premium bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja 300, and the TVS Apache RR 310. Yamaha is expected to price its bike higher than Rs 2 lakh for the Indian market.
