Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch its new 350cc range in India today, expanding its entry-level portfolio below the existing 400cc lineup. This launch is significant as it introduces a new single-cylinder platform aimed directly at the high-volume mid-capacity segment. According to industry reports, the upcoming motorcycles will be positioned below the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The move marks Triumph’s intent to further localise production and broaden its presence in India’s largest motorcycle category. The lineup is expected to include multiple variants and will potentially include roadster, scrambler and cafe racer body styles.
Engine Specifications And Performance Figures
Leaked specifications indicate that the new Triumph 350cc platform will use a single-cylinder,
liquid-cooled engine producing approximately 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This will be similar in configuration to the 400cc models. Top speed is estimated to be around 140 km/h. The motorcycles will be positioned in such a way that the balance between urban usability and highway capability is maintained.
The bikes are also expected to feature ride-by-wire throttle, a slipper clutch along with dual-channel ABS. Hardware is likely to include telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. You may also get to see disc brakes at both ends. Compared to the 398cc engine used in the Speed 400, the new unit is expected to be detuned and optimised for efficiency and accessibility rather than outright performance.

Positioning, Rivals, And Expected Impact
The new 350cc range will directly compete with models from Royal Enfield including the Classic 350 and Hunter 350, which dominate this segment in India. Pricing is expected to be lower than the Speed 400 which currently retails for Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). This suggests a likely entry point closer to the Rs 2 lakh mark, although official pricing will be confirmed at launch.
The introduction of multiple body styles on a shared platform indicates a strategy to maximise volume while maintaining cost efficiency at the same time. Local manufacturing through Bajaj Auto will obviously play a key role in achieving competitive pricing and wider availability.
All in all, this launch is expected to intensify competition in the 300-400cc segment and that too particularly by offering higher performance figures than most 350cc rivals while retaining a comparable price band.
