The Yamaha Aerox E has been launched in India, with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 2.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The electric scooter made its debut last year and is currently available for purchase in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. It will compete directly with performance electric scooters such as the Ather 450 Apex, TVS X, and Ola S1 Pro. Design-wise, the new Aerox E flaunts the sporty styling of the petrol-powered Aerox with an electric heart. Yamaha Aerox E Battery, Motor and Range
The Aerox E has two removable 1.5kWh battery packs and a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with 9.4 kW (12.60hp) of
power and 48Nm of torque. It has an 117 kilometres IDC certified range on a full charge. The Yamaha electric scooter can reach a top speed of 95.5km/h when used in Power mode with Boost activated.
Each battery pack takes about 3 hours and 10 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%. Charging both batteries together requires around 6 hours and 20 minutes.
Yamaha Aerox E Design and Dimensions
Visually, the Aerox E closely resembles the petrol-powered sibling, the Aerox 155. The biggest update is the new TFT display, replacing the LCD console found on the ICE model. That said, yoy get the same sporty maxi-scooter styling with sharp bodywork. The scooter has a wheelbase of 1,360mm and a kerb weight of 139 kg, making it around 13 kg heavier than the standard Aerox 155. It rolls on 14-inch wheels wrapped in 110/80 front and 140/70 rear tyres.
Yamaha Aerox E Features
Yamaha offers the new Aerox E with Economy, Standard and Power riding modes. The electric scooter also features a Boost mode, and a reverse mode and a traction control system. Other highlights include Bluetooth connectivity with Yamaha Y-Connect, Front and rear disc brakes, LED headlamp and LED taillamp, TFT instrument cluster, and Single-channel ABS.
