BMW Group India is accelerating in 2025 as the luxury carmaker has not only set a new record for sales but also held its place as India’s top luxury electric vehicle (EV) brand. Between January and September
2025, BMW Group India sold 11,978 cars, which is its best-ever sales performance and marked a strong 13% growth compared to the previous year.
The brand’s third quarter (July–September) was the most successful ever with 4,204 cars sold which is a 21% year-on-year jump. Even September 2025 alone set new records which were helped by reduced GST prices and the festive season.
Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasised, “The strong product offensive coupled with excellent aftersales services, personalised brand engagements and financial offers have spurred demand significantly. Our long-term strategy is aimed at successfully unlocking the potential of luxury car market and increasing market share while maintaining the core of JOY and Sheer Driving Pleasure we promise. The order bank remains healthy, and we are confident of closing the year with best-ever sales once again.”

The real heroes of BMW’s 2025 success story are its electric vehicles EV), as between January and September, BMW Group India sold 2,509 electric cars, that is a 246% growth over last year. EVs now stand up 21% of BMW’s total car sales which shows how fast Indian luxury buyers are moving toward electric mobility.
The BMW iX1 emerged as the top-selling EV, followed by the ultra-luxurious BMW i7. Both the models have helped BMW cross 5,000 total electric deliveries across India so far.
BMW also offers free Wallbox chargers, smart route planning for EVs and access to a nationwide fast-charging network across 51 cities. BMW customers can also use 6,000+ charging points through partnerships with other providers.
The brand’s Long Wheelbase (LWB) models, which have extra legroom and added comfort, have become incredibly popular in India. Sales of these versions climbed up by 169% this year, reaching 5,720 units
The BMW 3 Series remains the favorite among sedan lovers, while the BMW 7 Series continues to rule as the most desirable ultra-luxury limousine. In total, BMW Group India has now sold over 15,000 long-wheelbase cars in the country, which shows how comfort and performance can go hand in hand for Indian buyers.
