Ather will launch a new family-focused scooter in India, based on the EL01 concept that it showcased at its annual Community Day 2025. Compared to the Ather Rizta, currently the automaker’s only family-focused 2W on sale, the production-spec version of the EL01 is expected to be more affordable owing to a steel unibody frame and a swingarm-mounted motor. The recently sighted Ather EL01 testing suggests that the Ather is rigorously evaluating the electric scooter’s real-world performance, durability, and efficiency ahead of its launch. Following the Rizta, the EL01 will be the second family-oriented EV in Ather’s range. As an entry-level offering, it is expected to enhance the brand’s reach by increasing accessibility for more price-conscious
buyers, making its presence stronger in the high-volume family scooter segment. Here’s a closer look at its expected features, specifications, and price.
Ather EL01 Scooter Design And Features
The production-spec Ather EL01 is expected to stay close to its concept in terms of design and maintain practicality as its key strength over a flashy or sporty look. Similar to the Rizta, it will carry a family-oriented appeal and a spacious floorboard, which can be used by end-users for keeping daily essentials, including groceries or school bags. Key design elements could include wide handlebars, a single-piece seat, and chunky body panels. The concept features a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear unit, which is larger than the setup on its bigger sibling, the Rizta. It also comes equipped with a telescopic fork at the front, a rear shock absorber, a front disc and a rear drum, and a 7-inch TFT display. While there is no official confirmation yet, the production-spec EL01 could carry forward these features.
Ather EL01 Scooter Powertrain
The EL01 will use the new EL platform, which according to Ather, is designed and developed using data from over 26 lakh kilometres of real-world usage. It has a single-piece steel unibody that helps streamline manufacturing while reducing costs. The adaptable nature of the platform allows it to be used for different types of scooters. The simple design and durable parts enable service intervals of up to 10,000 kilometres. As for the upcoming EL01, this means lower running costs and fewer service visits, making it a more practical choice for daily commuters.

It includes an Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) for enhanced safety, a modular battery setup that can support different capacities (2kWh to 5kWh) and chemistries, as well as the brand’s new Charge Drive Controller, which combines the charger and motor controller into a single unit. The exact information on the specs is expected to be revealed closer to the Ather EL01 launch date.
Ather EL01 Scooter Price
The upcoming Ather EL01 price in India is likely to fall in the bracket of Rs 90,000 to Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). As a mass-market family electric scooter, it will go head-to-head against models such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 X.
