Lexus RX, one of India's popular premium SUVs has been thriving this year as between January and September 2025, the RX recorded 18% growth in sales as compared to the same period last year. This momentum
picked up further in September alone after the announcement of GST 2.0, with sales soaring by 38% year-on-year, which reaffirmed its status as one of the brand’s top-performing models in India.
The Japanese luxury carmaker revealed that SUVs are driving more than half of its total sales that shows how Indian buyers are increasingly attracted to stylish yet versatile vehicles. The total sales of Lexus’s NX, RX and LX SUVs increased by 58% in September 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, with SUVs now making up 54% of Lexus India’s overall sales.

Speaking about the brand’s success, Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, said, “The luxury SUV segment in India continues to witness remarkable growth, driven by evolving lifestyles and a growing preference for versatile mobility solutions. For Lexus India, this segment remains a cornerstone of our success. The RX has once again reaffirmed its position as a foundation of Lexus India’s SUV portfolio.”
The Lexus RX lineup in India includes two variants which are the RX 350h and the sportier version RX 500h F Sport. The RX 350h comes with a 2.5L petrol-hybrid setup for outstanding performance, while the RX 500h F Sport uses a powerful 2.4L turbocharged hybrid engine which is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and eAxle technology for extra thrilling experience.
To make luxury cars more accessible, Lexus India has also introduced a Smart Ownership Plan which is an assured buyback program available for its ES, NX, and RX models. The plan also commits customers flexibility and easy access when purchasing their next Lexus car.
