After much waiting, Renault India recently confirmed that it will unveil the latest generation of its Duster SUV for our market on January 26, 2026. The Duster's return has been long-awaited because the SUV is
often credited with starting the craze for smaller, more convenient SUV sub-segments that dominate the Indian market today. In its original format, the Duster was known to be a rugged and practical SUV that offers value for money and it remains to be seen if the next-generation car will follow the same fundamentals.

Considering that the latest generation Duster is already on sale in international markets, here are some expectations in terms of price, features and engine options that we hope the Indian version of the 2026 Duster will fulfill.
1. 2026 Renault Duster Expected Features:
The all-new Duster gets a completely fresh exterior and interior design, however, for it to compete against existing rivals like the Hyundai Creta, the SUV will require an extensive list of features apart from having a powerful engine. Based on the version sold in Turkey, the new Duster in India could offer a spacious and modern interior design.
In terms of gadgets, the new Duster would likely come with a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver information display, along with a wireless smartphone charger, a 360-degree parking camera and ample storage for small items across the cabin, up to 28.9 litres.
2. Next-Gen Renault Duster With Level 2 ADAS:
The upcoming Renault Duster would also focus on advanced safety with up to 17 Level 2 ADAS safety functions such as active emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and more.
3. 4X4 Drive And Terrain Modes:
So far, the biggest expectation from the upcoming Duster SUV is that it will offer 4x4 drive, making it competent in off-road conditions as well. Based on the model on sale internationally, if Renault offers four wheel drive in the new Duster for India, it would also offer five different terrain modes such as auto, eco, off-road, mud/sand and snow.
4. Expected Engine Option In 2026 Renault Duster:
The new Duster is expected to arrive in India with a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine option that will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will produce 130 hp of power. This powertrain combination would position the new Duster as a frugal and comfortable 4x4 SUV that is also efficient and easy to maintain.
5. 2026 Renault Duster Expected India Price:
Considering the emergence of several popular SUVs in the mid-sized segment, the Duster would need to be competitively priced to stand any chance against the rivals. Based on the above expectations, the new Duster could be priced between the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh bracket, making it a direct rival to available options such as the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and more.
While the brand has not confirmed any details about the new Duster apart from the unveil date, the existing model in international markets, such as Turkey, gives us a good understanding of what the new generation SUV could offer.
