The recent GST 2.0 reform has led to reduced tax slabs on commuter motorcycles, which made Honda reduce the prices of its entry-level models. The Honda Shine 100 and Shine 100 DX fall in the highly popular
competing segment of 100cc commuter bikes; now even more affordable. The Shine 100 is Honda's most pocket-friendly motorcycle in India, whereas the Shine 100 DX carries a few cosmetic upgrades. With variants getting price cuts across markets due to GST cuts being rolled out, this will add an extra bit of relief for the budget buyer just ahead of the festive season.

What This Means For Commuter Buyers
The commuter motorcycles in India are extremely price-sensitive, and even a few thousand rupees can sway decisions. With GST-driven cuts now applied, Honda’s Shine 100 and Shine 100 DX are more attractive to buyers looking for affordable, fuel-efficient two-wheelers. Customers should note that while ex-showroom prices are lower, final on-road costs depend on state-level RTO charges and insurance. Still, the GST relief ensures that Honda’s entry-level offerings become more competitive against rivals like the Hero HF Deluxe and Bajaj Platina.
