Kia India is working on an electric version of its Syros SUV. Slated for launch in early 2026 and expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 14 lakh, it marks Kia’s push into the mass‐market electric SUV space. The recent spy-shots reveal it is already undergoing real-world testing, which basically signals the car's readiness for local conditions. What this really means is that the Syros EV aims not only to look the part but also to serve practical everyday use in India’s roads and infrastructure.

Kia Syros EV: Design And Platform Expectations
From the test mules spotted in India, the Syros EV retains the compact footprint of the ICE Syros but introduces subtle modifications to accommodate the electric
powertrain. The silhouette appears familiar with an upright stance and bold roofline. But, there is a missing tailpipe and possibly closed front fascia elements to boost aerodynamics and emphasise its EV identity.
With Kia’s global “Opposites United” design philosophy taking over brand's India lineup, the Syros EV is expected to feature Kia'a signature “Digital Tiger Face” lighting signature and modern finishes. So, the takeaway is that the design will likely be familiar to Syros buyers but differentiated enough to signal its electric nature.
Kia Syros EV: Expected Technical Specs And Range
Kia has not officially detailed full specifications yet, but multiple industry reports point to a real-world range estimation of between 300 km and 400 km for the Syros EV. The company anticipates a launch in Q1 2026, possibly February, which aligns with its EV rollout timeline.
Given the Rs 14 lakh estimated price, the battery and motor systems will likely be modest but sufficient for urban and suburban use rather than performance focus. Fast charging capabilities and battery capacity remain unconfirmed.

Kia Syros EV: Market Positioning And Competition
With its anticipated pricing and range, the Syros EV is squarely positioned in the compact electric SUV segment. This will appeal to buyers looking for an EV at lower cost of ownership, without moving into premium territory. Its direct competition will include models such as the MG Windsor EV as well as the Tata Nexon EV. Kia’s strength will hinge on build quality, local service network, and brand trust.
