Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) presents the Times Drive Auto Summit & Awards 2026 has recognised VinFast as the EV Maker of the Year. A part of Vingroup, VinFast rose to become Vietnam’s top-selling car brand within just 21 months of launch and has since expanded globally with its range of smart electric vehicles. The brand has also strengthened its presence in India, beginning with an MoU signed with the Tamil Nadu government, followed by the launch of its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. Going further on this expansion, VinFast has added a new member to its portfolio called the VF MPV 7. It is also set to introduce electric two-wheelers in the country soon.

VinFast has slowly and steadily built its strong presence in the country’s automotive segment through a series of strategic developments, which shows its long-term commitment to the market. From committing substantial investments to create an EV ecosystem in Tamil Nadu to establishing its manufacturing footprint in Thoothukudi, the brand has laid a strong foundation. Currently, the brand offers the VF 7, VF 6 electric SUVs and the VF MPV 7 in India. Although there is no official launch timeline as of yet, the company is said to expand its portfolio by introducing electric two-wheelers, as part of its wider mobility vision.
