Prices for the new-generation Kia Seltos SUV have been revealed, and buyers will continue to have the option of choosing between eight different trim levels, three engine options, and multiple transmission
choices. The Seltos has always been a diverse product, offering over 30 variants to suit various needs. However, Kia India has announced that the new Seltos has a starting price of just Rs 10.99 lakh ex-showroom for the base HTE variant. Let's find out what is being offered in the most affordable Seltos and if it is a value-for-money proposition.
The Seltos HTE variant is available in both a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine option with the manual transmission as standard. The petrol Seltos HTE costs Rs 10.99 lakh and the diesel costs Rs 12.59 lakh ex-showroom. Coming to the design bit, the base variant of the new Seltos still retains its defining characteristics with the Star Map LED DRLs and tail lamps. It also gets the Ice Cube-style LED headlamps and front and rear skid plates finished in silver.
Other exterior elements include a set of 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, an integrated rear spoiler and manually operated flush door handles. On the inside, the Seltos HTE variant offers dual-tone fabric seat upholstery, the new steering wheel, a 12-inch LCD cluster with 4.2-inch MID and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity. Kia is also offering a 6-speaker audio setup from the base variant itself.
The Seltos HTE base variant also comes with cruise control, keyless entry, central locking, powered windows, rear AC vents and electrically adjustable ORVMs. For those who are looking to spend less but still have an automatic transmission, the HTE(O) variant offers an automatic drive and several updates such as driving modes, traction modes and more.
