Kia India has opened calendar year 2026 on a confident note, reporting 27,603 units sold in January, a 10.3% year-on-year growth over the 25,025 units recorded in January last year. For a market that is
fiercely competitive and price-sensitive, this jump signals steady customer trust and strong demand across Kia’s key models.
The Kia Seltos in its new-generation avatar has drawn strong showroom interest. The Seltos has long been one of the most influential SUVs in the mid-size space, and the latest update—focused on design, connectivity and safety tech, which appears to be resonating with buyers who want a premium feel without stepping into luxury pricing. At the same time, the Kia Sonet continues to do what it does best: deliver volumes. In the compact SUV segment, where choices are many and competition is intense, the Sonet’s blend of bold styling, features and practicality keeps it relevant month after month.

Kia’s momentum is also being supported by its people-mover lineup. The Kia Carens Clavis and the all-electric Kia Clavis EV are finding increasing acceptance among families looking for versatile 6- and 7-seater options. The Clavis EV, notably, stands out as Kia’s first made-in-India electric vehicle offering three rows, which is something still rare in the EV space. This reflects a slow but visible shift where buyers want practicality and future-ready tech in the same package.
Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing at Kia India, said the strong start reflects customer trust and the balanced nature of Kia’s portfolio. He highlighted the response to the new Seltos, the steady demand for Sonet, and the rising popularity of the Carens Clavis range.
Beyond products, Kia’s reach is expanding. The brand now operates 841 touchpoints across 376 cities, making sales and service more accessible in both metros and emerging towns. Supporting this is a network of 122 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, helping customers upgrade or exchange vehicles with ease.
This performance tells a simple story: models that combine design, technology and everyday usability are winning attention. With SUVs and family vehicles driving demand, Kia appears well-placed to carry this momentum deeper into 2026.
