Nissan has unveiled the Tekton, its all-new C-segment SUV, marking the brand’s re-entry into one of India’s most competitive segments. Set to launch by mid-2026, the Tekton will take on strong rivals like
the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Built on the CMF-B platform jointly developed with Renault, the Tekton will share its underpinnings with the next-generation Renault Duster. Nissan says the new SUV has been designed specifically for emerging markets, with India expected to be one of its key production and sales bases.
Visually, the Tekton borrows design cues from the larger Nissan Patrol. It features a flat bonnet, wide grille, and vertically stacked LED headlamps, while the connected LED tail-lamp bar at the rear adds a premium touch. The large alloy wheels, muscular wheel arches, and a roof-mounted spoiler complete its SUV proportions.

The cabin follows a modern yet practical layout, highlighted by a triple-tone dashboard with soft-touch materials and gloss-black accents. A large central touchscreen, fully digital driver display, and wireless smartphone connectivity are expected to feature prominently. Other highlights could include ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS features.
Under the hood, the Tekton is expected to be offered with a petrol-only lineup at launch. Nissan may introduce hybrid variants in higher trims, while all-wheel drive could be reserved for the top-spec models. The powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, but the focus is expected to be on performance balanced with efficiency.

The Tekton holds strategic importance for Nissan in India, where its presence has been limited in recent years. The company aims to rebuild its market share with new models tailored for Indian buyers. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said the Tekton will be central to Nissan’s “resurgence story” and signals the beginning of a fresh product offensive for the brand. Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President for Global Design, described the Tekton as “inspired by the legendary Patrol” and designed to “disrupt and dominate” the segment.
