BMW Motorrad has commenced bookings for the new BMW F 450 GS in India. This comes just days before the bike's scheduled launch on April 23. Prospective buyers can visit their nearest authorised dealership to place their booking. The new F 450 GS replaces the BMW G 310 GS in the brand's India portfolio. For those who don't know, TVS will locally manufacture the upcoming bike as part of its partnership with BMW Motorrad, which has also spawn the likes of the BMW G 310 R as well as G 310 RR. As far as rivals are concerned, the BMW F 450 GS will challenge some already established models such as Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure.
BMW F 450 GS: Engine And Hardware Details
The BMW F 450 GS is powered by a 420cc, twin-cylinder unit. This engine is capable of producing 48 hp of maximum
power at 8,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The unit comes mated to a six-speed unit and also sports a slipper clutch as well as a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
Moving on to the hardware part, here you get 43mm USD front fork and a rear monoshock with adjustable compression to take care of suspension duties. The model, built on a steel tube frame, rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels paired for long-travel suspension. The kerb weight stands at 178 kg for tackling off-road conditions effectively. Braking is handled by 310 mm front and 240 mm rear discs with dual-channel ABS.
BMW F 450 GS: Variants And Features
The BMW F 450 GS will come in multiple variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy. Among these, the GS Trophy is the most off-road oriented version with tubeless wire-spoke wheels.
Several electronic aids that you get on the bike include engine braking control, traction control and multiple riding modes. Apart from these, the feature suite of the F 450 GS also comprises a 6.5-inch TFT unit, a 14-litre fuel tank, a seat height of 845 mm and smartphone connectivity with navigation and call functions.

BMW F 450 GS: Expected Price
Though the F 450 GS has made its India debut before at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the official price announcement is still pending and is set to happen on April 23.
