Nissan Gravite
The Gravite is Nissan's value-focused entry into the MPV segment, and is priced from Rs 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom). It packs a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit that puts out 72bhp and 96Nm, and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. A factory-fitted CNG kit is also
available. The Gravite also provides a claimed fuel efficiency of around 19.3km/l on petrol and 24 km/kg on CNG, which makes it an economical pick for daily family use.
Renault Triber
Having the same underpinnings as the Gravite, the Triber is one of the affordable seven-seaters around, with prices beginning at Rs 5.81 lakh (ex-showroom). It runs the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 72bhp and 96Nm, offering both manual and AMT gearbox choices. The car can also be had in a CNG guise. As for efficiency, the Renault Triber offers 19.76km/l with the manual petrol variant, while the AMT automatic version returns a slightly lower 19.59km/l.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
A long-standing name in this category, the Ertiga starts at Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom) and remains a go-to choice for many Indian households. It uses a 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol motor that produces 101.64bhp and 137Nm, and is offered with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. A factory-fitted CNG option is also available. The petrol version returns a strong claimed mileage of up to 20.51km/l, while the S-CNG variant goes even further at up to 26.11 km/kg.
Toyota Rumion
Essentially a rebadged Ertiga, the Rumion adds Toyota's reliability tag to the segment from Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom). It has the same 1.5-litre petrol engine, with manual or automatic transmission options and a factory CNG variant. The Neo Drive petrol with a 5-speed manual gearbox is the most fuel-efficient at a certified 20.51km/l, while the same Neo Drive petrol paired with the 6-speed automatic returns a marginally lower 20.11km/l. The E-CNG version with the 5-speed manual offers fuel efficiency of 26.11 km/kg. While the Toyota Rumion shares its core platform, engine and mechanicals with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the two aren't identical twins. They differ in terms of exterior styling, interior colour themes, and variant packaging.
Kia Carens
Topping this list in price but leading on features, the Carens starts at Rs 11.02 lakh (ex-showroom) . There's a choice between a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel, both paired with a 6-speed manual. The Kia Carens offers a claimed mileage of 15.7km/l to 16.2km/l on petrol, while the diesel setup returns up to 21.3km/l.
