At the 2026 New York International Auto Show, Kia made a strong statement about where the future of mobility is heading as the company unveiled the all-new Seltos, the EV3 electric SUV and the PV5 wheelchair-accessible concept, showing that it is not focusing on just one type of customer, but everyone.
New Seltos
The new 2027 Seltos is an upgrade of one of Kia’s most popular SUVs. It is now bigger, more spacious, and more advanced. The design looks sharper, with bold lines and a more upright SUV stance. Inside, the car gets a modern cabin with dual 12.3-inch screens and a clean layout. For beginners, this means a more premium feel, similar to bigger and more expensive cars.
Kia has also added more comfort and safety features like a panoramic sunroof, surround view camera, and improved seating. One of the biggest highlights is the engine options. The new Seltos will offer three choices which are regular petrol, turbo petrol and for the first time, a hybrid option. This gives buyers flexibility based on budget and fuel preference.
EV3
The EV3 is Kia’s new compact electric SUV. It is designed for people
who want to switch to electric cars without spending too much. It comes with a modern design inspired by the bigger EV9 and offers a range of up to 320 miles. In simple words, this means you can drive long distances without worrying too much about charging.

PV5 WAV
The most unique reveal was the PV5 WAV concept. This is an electric vehicle designed specially for wheelchair users. Developed with BraunAbility, this vehicle focuses on easy entry, better space, and safe seating for people with mobility challenges.
Kia plans to test it in real-world conditions, especially in cities like New York. For beginners, this highlights cars are not just about performance anymore, but also about accessibility and inclusion.Strategy
Kia displayed 21 vehicles at the show, including models like Telluride, Sportage, and EV6. This shows the company is expanding its presence across all segments. As mentioned in the official showcase, Kia is also increasing hybrid production and working towards offering hybrid options across its SUV lineup.
Kia has used the New York Auto Show to show its future roadmap. From a practical SUV like the Seltos to an accessible EV like the EV3 and an inclusive concept like the PV5 WAV, the brand is clearly moving towards a more flexible and people-focused future.
