Mahindra has dropped yet another teaser for the XEV 9S, and the slow-burn reveal strategy is clearly working. The brand’s first three-row model in its Born Electric family has been appearing in fragments
over the past few weeks, and this latest preview gives us a clearer sense of how Mahindra wants its flagship electric SUV to be perceived.
The newest teaser focuses on the cabin and the exterior, and while Mahindra still isn’t ready to show the entire layout, a few key details are now out in the open. The company has confirmed that the XEV 9S will run with a dark, almost lounge-like interior theme. The seats appear to get premium-looking side stitching and a distinctive silver insert positioned around shoulder height. Other details revealed in this new teaser are that the XEV 9S will come with a panoramic sunroof.
Audio enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Mahindra is packing in a Harman Kardon sound system. The brand has been using this setup on the BE.6 and XEV 9e, and the 9S is expected to run the same hardware, potentially with Dolby Atmos support. It’s clear Mahindra wants its top-tier EVs to offer a richer cabin experience, not just a futuristic dashboard.

Speaking of the dashboard, Mahindra previously confirmed a triple-screen arrangement stretching across the front. That setup is visible again here, although so far the brand has been tight-lipped about the third row; arguably the most interesting part of this SUV. The new teaser confirms a seven-seat layout. Packaging a usable seven-seat layout along with a substantial battery pack will be a challenge, and buyers will be curious to see how much space actually makes it to the final product.
The test mules spotted earlier showed a stacked headlamp design, and Mahindra has now officially locked it in for production. This lighting approach was hinted at with the XUV.e8 concept back in 2022 and later reappeared on leaked images of the XEV 7S. The 9S seems to be the model where this look finally makes its way onto showroom-ready metal.
