Renault has officially revealed the electric version of its popular hatchback, the Kwid Electric, or Kwid E-Tech, in Brazil. The compact EV claims a range of 265 km and introduces a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). As the test mule have been seen spotted on Indian roads several times, the model will likely launch in India soon. ChatGPT said:

Inside, the cabin comes with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior also features a console-mounted electronic gear selector, two USB-C ports, and a height-adjustable steering wheel.
Powering the Kwid Electric is a 26.8 kWh battery paired with an electric motor producing 48 kW (64 hp) and 113 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches 100 km/h in 14.6 seconds. Charging options include a 30 kW DC fast charger that replenishes the battery from 15% to 80% in around 40 minutes, while a 7.4 kW AC wallbox charger takes approximately 2 hours and 54 minutes.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, ABS, ESP, hill start assist, a rearview camera, and TPMS. The Kwid Electric also integrates Level 1 ADAS, offering 11 driver assistance features; a first for the model. In Brazil, the Kwid E-Tech is priced at BRL 99,990 (around Rs 16 lakh). For India, Renault is expected to localise production to reduce costs and position it closer to upcoming budget EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet.
