Tata Motors is all set to end the wait for the much-anticipated Sierra EV by pulling the wraps off it on June 30, 2026. With this, the Sierra will now be available in the range in both ICE and electric versions. The move will be very significant for the brand as the iconic Sierra nameplate will have an electric badge for the very first time. Upon its launch, the Sierra EV will likely sit between the Curvv EV and the flagship Harrier EV in the range. While the company is unlikely to announce prices on the debut day, bookings could open shortly after the unveiling. The launch and price announcement are likely to happen by late July or early August 2026.
Tata Sierra EV Design
The Sierra EV will remain loyal to its iconic roots while embracing a few EV-specific tweaks.
The changes at the front are expected to include a closed-off body-coloured grille and a full-width LED DRL signature, unlike the ICE version's split lighting setup. The positioning of the headlamps is also likely to be different than the ICE version. In addition, the Tata logo is said to sit on the body-coloured panel. Moreover, we can anticipate a new design for alloy wheels. The signature wraparound rear glass, a design element from the 1990s Sierra, is expected to be retained, giving the EV a distinctive identity in a crowded segment.
Tata Sierra EV Battery And Range
The Sierra EV is expected to arrive with a 55kWh unit sourced from the Curvv for base variants, and a bigger 65kWh or 75kWh unit from the Harrier EV for top-spec models. It is likely to have a claimed range of up to 500 kilometres on a single charge. An all-wheel-drive variant is also expected. The SUV will be based on Tata's Gen 2 Acti.ev platform, which supports DC fast-charging capability, along with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging features.
Tata Sierra EV Features
From the inside, the Tata EV is expected to be feature-rich. You can expect Tata to equip the SUV with a triple-screen layout, Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated seats, and dual-zone climate control.
