The
electric scooter segment, especially in the sub-Rs 1 lakh range, has grown significantly in 2026 with established brands like Bajaj, TVS, Ola, Hero and Ampere now offering credible options at this price point instead of leaving it entirely to lesser-known startups. With Delhi's new EV Policy offering up to Rs 30,000 in purchase subsidies on eligible models, buyers in the capital can stretch their money further than ever before. Here are the five options worth shortlisting if your budget is Rs 1 lakh or below.
Ola S1 X (3rd Gen)
- Price: Rs 69,999, ex-showroom
The Ola S1 X is the most affordable entry from a mainstream EV-first brand at this price point. It runs a 2kWh battery with a claimed IDC range of 108 km, and producing 9.38 hp of peak power and a top speed of 101 kmph. Ola's service network has expanded to 450-plus centres though it's still smaller than TVS or Bajaj. This electric scooter is best suited to riders with a daily commute under 60 km.
Ampere Magnus Grand
- Price: Rs 89,999, ex-showroom
Ampere Magnus Grand uses an LFP battery with up to 95 km claimed IDC range and a hub motor. It's a straightforward commuter without a large touchscreen or connected features but comes backed by Greaves' growing dealer network, which now covers a number of tier-2 cities. The EV comes with a 5-year / 75,000 km battery warranty and a top speed of 65 kmph. It's the plainest option on this list in terms of tech which also means fewer things to go wrong.
Bajaj Chetak C2501
- Price: Rs 91,504, ex-showroom
Bajaj's entry-level Chetak brings a full metal body panel construction at under Rs 1 lakh which is genuinely unusual for this price bracket. The 2.5kWh NMC battery claims 113km of range, charges to 80% in under two and a half hours on the supplied 750W charger and the 2.95 hp hub motor tops out at 60 kmph. It's best suited to pure city commuters doing under 50 km daily.
TVS Orbiter
- Price: Rs 84,500, ex-showroom
The TVS Orbiter launched last year as the most affordable model in TVS' electric lineup. The top-spec variant offers a 3.1kWh battery with a claimed 158 km range under standard conditions and the biggest advantage here is the
TVS after-sales network with 2,800-plus touch points across India — the largest of any brand on this list.
Hero Vida VX2 Go
- Price: Rs 84,800, ex-showroom
The Hero Vida VX2 Go's headline feature is its removable and swappable battery — you can take it indoors to charge rather than running a cable to where the scooter is parked. The 3.4kWh pack claims up to 142 Km range and comes with 12-inch alloy wheels and CBS. Hero's wide dealership coverage means service won't be a hunt in smaller cities.
