Are you planning to purchase the Maruti Suzuki Dzire LXi MT? The entry-level variant, priced at Rs 6.26 lakh ex-showroom, offers a decent package for buyers looking for a reliable family car without burning a hole in their pocket. Though you have to skip a few premium features available on higher trims, still, the base Dzire LXi MT gives you all the essentials required for a hassle-free daily commuting. Here's a closer look at what the Dzire LXI MT brings to the table.
Exterior
The Dzire LXI MT has the same design as the higher trims. However, it comes with halogen projector headlamps, LED high-mounted stop lamp, signature 3D LED taillamps, a shark-fin antenna, and an integrated boot lip spoiler. The car rides on 14-inch steel wheels without wheel covers,
and gets black ORVMs, black door handles, and a black-finished front grille, which differentiate it from the more premium variants. The beltline garnish is also adorned in black.
Interior
Inside, the Dzire LXI MT gets a dual-tone black and beige theme. It sports a speedometer with a tachometer, multi-information display, manual air conditioning with illuminated controls, power and tilt-adjustable steering, front and rear power windows, front centre room lamp, adjustable front headrests and bottle holders on all four doors. There are also fabric inserts on the front armrests, driver-side footrest, front accessory socket and manual day/night IRVM. That said, the cabin misses the chrome and leather detailing found in higher variants.
Features
The Dzire, which was the best-seller in May, doesn't compromise on essential features even in its base variant for convenience. You get remote keyless entry, central locking, electromagnetic boot release, electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors, gear shift indicator, adjustable rear headrests and a rear seat centre armrest with cup holders. However, if you want USB charging ports, touchscreen infotainment, steering-mounted controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, cruise control and push-button start, then you have to shell out more money as these are reserved for higher variants.
Safety
Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Dzire LXI MT with a decent safety suite. Some of the key amenities include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, three-point seat belts for all occupants, seat belt reminders, front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters, engine immobiliser and the brand's HEARTECT body structure. The speed-sensitive auto door locking and rear defogger are also part of the standard package. But for features like a reverse parking camera, TPMS and a 360-degree camera, buyers have to upgrade to higher-spec models.
Here's Why You Can Buy the Dzire LXI MT
If having a dependable compact sedan at the lowest possible price is your priority, then you can consider the Dzire LXI MT. It offers a strong safety package for its price, even though it misses out on several comfort and technology features. Customers looking for touchscreen infotainment, alloy wheels, or premium cabin equipment may find better value in the higher variants, but for budget-sensitive buyers, the base Dzire can be an ideal option to upgrade from a two-wheeler or as a first car purchase.
