The Renault Kwid Facelift has been launched in India at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 4.53 lakh. Interestingly, Renault's most affordable hatchback carries a reduced price tag compared to the outgoing version. It now comes in only two variants, but continues to be offered with the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. In terms of design as well, the changes are minimal, with the Kwid largely preserving all its key exterior elements. Here's a closer look at the newly-launched Kwid Facelift in India.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Exterior
Renault has not made any drastic changes as part of the overhaul. You can see the changes are subtle, but they are noticeable. For instance, the new Kwid joins its other siblings in the lineup, the Triber and the Kiger,
by embracing a new 3D Renault badge. It also gets new dual-tone plastic covers for its steel wheels (14 inches). In addition to this, the updated hatchback gets its Kwid branding in a silver finish with a different font. Dimensions are unchanged too, and the Kwid continues to be 3,731mm long, riding on a 2,422mm wheelbase, and offering 184mm of ground clearance and a boot space of 279 litres.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Interior And Features
The 2026 iteration of the Kwid carries the majority of features of its predecessor while adding a new three-spoke steering wheel lifted from the Renault Kiger, with buttons for the infotainment system. The rest of the cabin stays unchanged. When it comes to safety, the Renault carries a decent equipment list. Now offered in two variants, the Evolution comes with dual airbags, whereas the Climber steps up to six. That said, customers can get access to ABS with EBD, a reversing camera, tyre pressure monitoring, seatbelt reminders and keyless entry on both models. AMT versions add hill-start assist.
Renault Kwid Facelift Engine
Mechanically, Renault has not changed anything at all. The Kwid soldiers on with its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns out a peak power of 69hp and 92.5Nm. It can be paired with either the 5-speed manual or the AMT.
Renault Kwid Facelift: Price And Competitors
The Kwid continues to square off against the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti S-Presso, both of which undercut it on price. The hatchback's top-spec version can serve as an alternative to the Tata Punch. The prices for Evolution MT and AMT are Rs 4.53 lakh and Rs 4.90 lakh, respectively. The Climber, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 5.15 lakh for the manual version and Rs 5.61 lakh for the automatic variant. The mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
