The updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been spotted ahead of its launch and leaked images have revealed several changes to one of India’s most popular compact SUVs. This matters to buyers because the Brezza is finally set to receive a few features that competitors have offered for some time including ventilated seats and a revised gearbox. While the SUV’s basic shape remains unchanged, Maruti Suzuki has tweaked the styling and added more equipment inside the cabin. Here’s a closer look at the five biggest changes expected on the new Brezza facelift.

What Has Changed?

The Brezza facelift does not completely alter the SUV’s design but there are enough updates to make it look different from the current model. The front grille has been redesigned while the bumper and

lighting elements have also been revised. Fresh alloy wheels are expected and minor changes can be seen at the rear as well.

Inside, the cabin gets the bigger updates. Images of the top-spec ZXi variant show a new ambient lighting setup and ventilated front seats both of which are new additions to the Brezza range. Maruti Suzuki has also refreshed some of the trim pieces and seat upholstery.

The overall dashboard layout remains familiar which means existing Brezza owners will not find the cabin drastically different.

Which Features Are New?

Ventilated seats are likely to be one of the headline additions especially for buyers in hotter parts of the country. The leaked model also appears to get wireless smartphone connectivity and a 360-degree camera on higher trims.

Another important update is the reported introduction of a six-speed manual gearbox. The current Brezza uses a five-speed manual, so the extra ratio could improve cruising ability on highways.

Features already offered on the SUV, including the electric sunroof, automatic climate control as well as connected-car technology, are expected to continue.

Will The Engine Change?

Maruti Suzuki is unlikely to make major mechanical changes. The facelifted Brezza is expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine which currently develops 102 bhp and 137 Nm.

For now, the company has not confirmed launch dates or prices. However, leaked details and dealership previews suggest that an official announcement may not be far away. Given the competition in the compact SUV segment, the feature additions could play an important role in keeping the Brezza relevant for buyers.
