If you are planning a visit to the Vatican City anytime soon, then keep an eye out, as you can might spot a couple of scooters dashing around the historical hot spot which have been developed in India. That is because TVS Motor Italia recently delivered two units of the iQube electric scooter to the Governorate of Vatican City State in Rome, Italy. The scooters are part of an initiative taken by the Vatican City to make an ecological transition towards everyday mobility.
The TVS iQube was first launched in 2020 and has been a popular option among electric scooter buyers in India. The Italian-spec iQube L3e scooters that have been delivered to the Vatican on February 5, feature a claimed range of up to 100 km in eco mode and also come with a TFT
screen for driver information and SmartXonnect suite of connected features. The iQube L3e scooters that have reached the holy city in Rome, presumably feature the 2.2 kWh battery pack that can charge from 0-80 percent in 7 hours and retails at 4,311 euros.
TVS Motor Company officially launched its operations in Italy under TVS Motor Italia in May 2024. The Indian manufacturer currently offers a wide range of passenger two-wheelers in Italy. The Italian portfolio includes both electric and ICE models, such as the TVS iQube, TVS X, TVS Ronin 250, TVS Raider commuter bike, TVS Jupiter 125 and the Ntorq scooters, along with the TVS Apache RR 310 and RTR 310 flagship motorcycles. Overall, TVS Motor Company currently operates in 90 countries.

In India, TVS currently offers several all-electric scooter models. The TVS iQube scooter has three variants with battery capacity ranging from 2.2 kWh to 3.5 kWh. The automaker also launched the TVS Orbiter recently, which offers a utilitarian everyday electric scooter option with a maximum range of up to 158 km. TVS has also entered the premium electric scooter segment in India, with its X electric scooter. The X flagship gets high-end features such as a 10.2-inch tilt TFT screen, monoshock suspension at the rear, a top speed of 105 kmph and an IDC certified range of 140 km.
