Tata Motors is gearing up to launch a serious contender in the mid-sized SUV segment of India, which is currently being ruled by popular choices like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Kia
Seltos. The highly competitive segment demands an upmarket design, a loaded tech manifesto and multiple drivetrain options to keep buyers interested. Tata Motors promises all the main ingredients, with the added flair of a taller design and more rugged look and feel than its rivals. Here's everything that has been confirmed about the new Sierra SUV, which is due to launch on November 25.

New Tata Sierra Confirmed Features:
Tata Motors has released several teasers to ease the anticipation of fans over the past few weeks. The brief visuals have given us a fair idea of what features to expect from the all-new mid-sized SUV. The highlights include a triple-screen layout on the dashboard, featuring a driver information display, an infotainment touchscreen, and an entertainment screen for the front passenger. Other highlighting features include touch capacitive buttons, a 360-degree parking camera and dual-zone climate control and a two-tone black and grey interior theme.
2025 Tata Sierra Engine Options:
To make the Sierra competitive against its rivals, Tata Motors is expected to offer multiple engine and transmission options to suit a wide range of buyers. The highlight in this department would be Tata's all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol Revotron engine, which is expected to debut with the Sierra. Based on earlier launches, we can expect Tata Motors to offer both manual and automatic transmission options with the turbo-petrol engine from launch day itself. A wet-clutch DCA automatic can also be expected in the higher trims.
For diesel fans, Tata Motors is expected to offer the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel Revotorq engine option in the new Sierra SUV. The engine already does duty in models like the Curvv coupe SUV and offers a punchy performance. Last but not least, Tata Motors will also launch the all-electric Sierra alongside the ICE model on November 25.
Safety Features In The New Tata Sierra SUV:
Safety has been among the key cornerstones of every new Tata Motors SUV or car and the Sierra is expected to be no different. The highlights would include an advanced Level 2 ADAS safety suite alongside active features like ABD, EBD, ESC, Hill Start Assist, 6 Airbags and more. We also expect the Sierra to either be launched with a 5-star crash test rating from Bharat NCAP, or soon after the SUV is launched.
The mid-size SUV segment in India has proven to be a challenging market for several carmakers over the past decade. It remains to be seen if the Sierra's unique mix of legacy, nostalgia, butch looks and attractive features will strike the right balance to tip the scales in favour of Tata Motors.
