Ather 450X Overtones series has been launched in India at Rs 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced three new dual-graphic colour options along with a new 900W home charger replacing the older 700W unit. The charger upgrade is the bigger practical change here - a 30% improvement in charging speed affects daily use far more than a new paint scheme and it comes bundled in without a price hike over the existing 450X. Read on to learn more about this new addition to the 450X range.
Ather 450X Overtones Series: Three New Colours
The Ather 450X Overtones series adds Still White, Space Grey as well as Lunar Grey, each with two-tone graphic treatments instead of single solid finishes. Still White pairs a white base with green and grey graphics, Space Grey goes
darker with red and grey accents and Lunar Grey uses a lighter grey body with dark grey and yellow graphics.
These replace the single-tone colour options previously available at this price point, and give the 450X a more layered visual design without touching the mechanicals underneath.
How Much Faster Does It Charge?
The old 700W charger is out, replaced by a 900W unit as standard. Ather says this cuts charging time by 30% which on a 3.5kWh battery works out to a meaningful saving in time over a full overnight cycle. For buyers who rely on home charging primarily, this is a real-world improvement that compounds daily rather than something you only notice on paper.
Everything else stays unchanged: the 8.58 hp motor, 90 kmph top speed and the two battery options, a 2.9kWh pack with a claimed 126 km IDC range and a 3.5kWh pack claiming 161 km, continue as before.
Should You Buy Now?
If you were already looking at the 450X, the new charger and colour choices make the current version a cleaner buy than what was available six months ago, with no price increase attached. The 450X sits above the 450S in Ather's lineup and faces competition from the TVS iQube and Ola S1 series in the Rs 1.50 lakh-plus bracket.
None of those rivals currently bundle a 900W home charger as standard, which gives the 450X Overtones a practical daily-use edge at similar pricing though IDC range claims and real-world range on your specific commute should still be tested on a demo ride before finalising.
