The 2027 iteration of the bike in the US has gained a new Matte Phantom Blue/Fluo Red colour option, and it has given Indian fans another reason to wish the 890cc bike was available on our shores. 2027 Yamaha R9: Here's What's Special In The New Colour

The most prominent update on the 2027 R9 is the introduction of the new Matte Phantom Blue / Fluo Red colour. What truly distinguishes this shade is its premium and sporty appeal. The shade combines a dark blue finish with contrasting red highlights. How? On the fairing, there are

subtle red pinstripes. The signature Yamaha R9 graphics continue to maintain their appeal.

Yamaha has also painted the alloy wheel rims, front fender, and lower section of the fairing in red. This makes the 2027 Yamaha R9 stand out without appearing overly flashy. The result is a colour combination that sits neatly between the brighter Team Yamaha Blue paint scheme and the stealthier Raven Black option. At present, Yamaha has confirmed this colour only for the US market, and there is no word on whether it will be offered in other regions.

Yamaha R9: Engine and Hardware

There are no changes to the Yamaha R9's engine specifications. Power comes from the same 890cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine that produces 117.3bhp and 93Nm. The engine is well-liked for its strong mid-range performance and engaging character, making the R9 one of the most exciting motorcycles in the automaker's global range. The supersport continues to promise everyday usability with serious performance, a combination that has earned it plenty of attention from riders around the world.

Yamaha has retained the existing chassis and suspension setup on the 2027 R9. The motorcycle continues to use a 43mm KYB upside-down front fork and a KYB monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from 320mm front disc brakes and a 220mm rear disc. The R9 rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels.
