Volvo has unveiled its all-electric EX60 SUV globally with industry-leading specs and advanced computing systems. The EX60 sits on Volvo’s new SPA3 electric platform and targets the fastest-growing mid-size EV segment. The SUV boasts a top-range WLTP figure of up to 810 km in its highest-spec all-wheel-drive form, thanks to efficient battery integration, 800-volt architecture as well as optimised aerodynamics. The EX60 also marks Volvo’s first production car with Google’s Gemini AI assistant integrated into its core computing system. This offers natural language interaction and software-defined functionality.

Design And Architecture
The EX60 is built on Volvo’s next-generation
SPA3 platform, which underpins the vehicle’s structure and electrification. This architecture incorporates mega casting and a cell-to-body battery design that reduces weight and improves rigidity. The 800-volt electrical system supports high-speed charging and contributes to the SUV’s claimed aerodynamic efficiency. Volvo’s standard safety suite and structural engineering continue to focus on occupant protection.
Variant Options, Range And Charging
The Volvo model comes in three variants: P6, P10 and P12. The P6 variant houses a 83 kWh battery, while the P10 and P12 offer a 95 kWh unit and a 117 kWh unit, respectively.
Range figures for the Volvo EX60 vary by powertrain. The top P12 all-wheel-drive variant carries a WLTP range estimate of up to 810 km. Lower-tier versions offer correspondingly lower range figures.
The 800-volt system enables fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing around 340 km of additional range in about ten minutes on compatible DC chargers. Volvo states that 10-80% fast-charging times can be under 20 minutes under optimal conditions.
Gemini AI Integration
Volvo has incorporated Google’s Gemini AI assistant in the EX60’s HuginCore software architecture. It enables a natural, multi-turn voice dialogue for navigation, communication and infotainment without any manual input. The system becomes better over time with over-the-air updates that continue to enhance both the intelligence of the vehicle and usability long after delivery.
