Indian cricket fans are still celebrating the women’s team’s big victory at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and star batter Shafali Verma, who played a key role in India lifting the trophy, has gifted herself a MG Cyberster, which is one of India’s most eye-catching electric sportscars now a days. The MG Cyberster starts at Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, making it one of the most premium EVs currently available in the country.
MG India recently shared stunning photos of Shafali posing with her new two-seater electric roadster. The car was displayed on a red carpet at a cricket ground, which turned the delivery into a grand celebration.
The MG Cyberster is an electric sportscar, meaning it runs entirely on battery power but still delivers
supercar-like performance as it comes with a 77 kWh ultra-thin battery pack, which is one of the slimmest in the industry at just 110 mm thick. Due to its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the Cyberster produces 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque. With Launch Control Mode, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and MG claims it can travel up to 580 km on a single full charge, based on MIDC testing.
Design has always been one of the MG’s biggest highlights, as Cyberster features a stylish coupe-inspired body, electronic scissor doors that open upwards, sharp LED headlights, large air vents and bold 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, its arrow-shaped LED taillights give it a cool and futuristic appearance. The model Shafali bought also comes with a red soft-top roof, which gives it the appeal of a classic convertible sportscar.
From the inside, the cabin is loaded with modern technology which includes dual 7-inch displays, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large vertical touchscreen for infotainment. The interior also blends cutting-edge technology with sporty styling that makes this sporty car as exciting on the inside as it is on the outside.
With her new MG Cyberster, Shafali Verma has not only celebrated a historic cricketing achievement but also turned heads in the auto world. Her choice reflects the growing trend of young Indians especially sports stars who embrace high-performance electric vehicles. As India continues its shift towards electric vehicles, moments like these help bring electric mobility into the spotlight in a fun and inspiring way.
