Nissan Motor India has dispatched over 12 lakh vehicles from its Chennai plant, marking a massive milestone in its continuing significant contribution to automobile exports from India over almost two decades.
The export portfolio led by Nissan Magnite compact SUV underscores growing international acceptability of vehicles designed and manufactured in India. This comes at a time when Nissan is preparing for the next phase of its operations in the country that will usher in new models and greater localisation with its alliance partner Renault.

Magnite Leads Nissan’s Export Growth
The Nissan Magnite stays important in exports for the brand, with big demand from global markets. Since it first came out in 2020, this compact SUV has been sent to over 15 countries even markets like South Africa, Indonesia, Nepal, and the Middle East. Its affordable price point and design made for growing markets have helped make it a smart move for Nissan India. Also, the Magnite’s export numbers have let Nissan widen its world product supply once more showing India as a key export place for small cars.
Nissan Chennai Plant: Hub Of Global Operations
Nissan runs its export strategy out of Chennai in joint operations with Renault. This plant came into existence in the year 2010 and supplies to both the domestic and international markets with vehicles being shipped to over 100 countries across regions like Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Middle East countries. Over the years, it has produced models like Micra, Sunny, and Terrano, making them up to specific region standards.
