The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara prices in India have been increased by up to Rs 30,000. The select variants have seen the hike, making it the biggest price revision among Nexa models this month. Following the price update, Maruti's first-ever electric SUV is now priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 20.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The e Vitara is not the only model that has seen the price hike. Maruti Suzuki has revised prices across models in its lineup. If you are planning to buy the e Vitara, here's all you need to know.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: New Prices
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara can be had across three variants - Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Post the hike, the e Vitara range now starts at Rs 15.99 lakh for the Delta variant, while the Zeta is priced at Rs 17.79 lakh. The top-of-the-line Alpha trim
costs Rs 20.21 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Maruti Suzuki also offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option with its first electric SUV. With this, the introductory prices begin from Rs 10.99 lakh, while battery subscription plans start at Rs 3.99 per km.
The most recent price hike primarily impacts the higher variants of the e Vitara. Although the price adjustment makes select trims slightly more expensive, it is unlikely to affect the SUV's positioning in the segment. As stated earlier, Maruti Suzuki has revised prices across several models in its range.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Powertrain
Maruti Suzuki offers the e Vitara with two battery pack options. The Delta variant comes equipped with a 49kWh battery, and has a claimed range of 440 kilometres. It uses a single electric motor that churns out a peak power of 142bhp and a maximum torque of 193Nm. In contrast,
the Zeta and Alpha variants have a larger 61 kWh battery pack. They boast a claimed range of 543 kilometres. Power output stands at 172bhp while the torque is the same at 193Nm.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: What It Means For Buyers
Though interested customers have to pay Rs 30,000 more for select variants post the hike, the revision does little to change the e Vitara's overall value proposition. With competitive range options and the availability of the BaaS option, the Maruti Suzuki EV remains a crucial offering in Maruti's portfolio. It competes against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Toyota Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric in the segment.
