Jeep India has released a teaser for a new variant of the Compass SUV, likely to be called the Track Edition. The upcoming version appears to focus on cosmetic upgrades rather than performance upgrades, similar to previous special editions offered in the Indian market.
The teaser image reveals a few subtle design cues, including new ‘Track’ decals on the hood, which suggest a sportier appearance compared to the standard Compass. Jeep has not shared any official specifications yet, but the Track Edition is expected to sit alongside existing variants such as the BlackShark and Model S.
Inside, the Compass Track Edition could receive minor visual updates to complement its exterior tweaks. These could include new seat upholstery, special stitching,
and edition-specific badging. However, the overall cabin layout and feature list are expected to remain the same as the current top variants.

Under the hood, Jeep is unlikely to make any mechanical changes. The Compass Track Edition will continue to use the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 170 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic. Depending on the variant, the Compass can be configured in either 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain setups.
At present, the Jeep Compass lineup in India includes four main trims – Sport, Longitude, Longitude (O), and Limited (O). In addition to these, the brand already offers two special editions: the BlackShark Edition, which adds dark-themed styling elements, and the Model S, positioned as the premium version in the range.

The Track Edition is expected to follow a similar formula, adding cosmetic differentiation to keep the lineup fresh without increasing prices significantly. Jeep has previously introduced such limited or special editions to maintain customer interest amid increasing competition in the premium SUV segment, which includes rivals like the Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
While Jeep has yet to announce a launch date, the teaser suggests that the Compass Track Edition will arrive in India soon, possibly around the festive season. Pricing is expected to be slightly higher than the standard Compass variants, depending on the level of cosmetic upgrades offered.
