Tata Motors has finally taken the wraps off the production-ready Sierra, giving us the clearest look yet at how the brand plans to revive an icon. Instead of recreating the old SUV panel for panel, the modern
Sierra takes the essence of the original and builds something far more contemporary around it. The result is a flagship model that sets the tone for the company’s future design direction.
From the outside, the Sierra instantly stands out for how clean and confident it looks. There’s no unnecessary drama, just taut surfaces, a stretched wheelbase, and a stance that feels both sturdy and upscale. The familiar profile of the classic Sierra hasn’t been ignored; it has been reimagined through a sleeker roofline, a panoramic glass section, and a neatly executed black roof strip that nods to the airy feel of the first-gen SUV.

The front gets a strong visual identity thanks to a full-width LED DRL that arcs across the nose in a single clean sweep. This signature is mirrored at the rear with a similar slim, continuous light bar. Details like the flush door handles, gloss-black body accents, hidden wipers and R19 alloys make the SUV feel thoroughly modern. The tailgate is now a powered clamshell.
Step inside, and the Sierra takes on a very different role. Tata calls it a “living room” on wheels, and the cabin lives up to that idea. The layout is wide, calm, and uncluttered, with a focus on comfort rather than theatrics. The highlight is the TheatrePro multi-screen setup, arranged in a horizon-style layout that allows both front occupants to personalise what they see. This works alongside a JBL Black 12-speaker system and Dolby Atmos tuning, which together deliver a surprisingly immersive sound experience for a mainstream SUV.

The sense of openness is amplified by what Tata calls the PanoraMax, essentially a massive sunroof paired with an extended glasshouse that brings back the airy feeling old Sierra owners fondly recall. Materials inside lean towards warm tones, soft textures, and subtle metal detailing, all supported by ambient lighting that gives the cabin a calm, lounge-like vibe. Tata Motors will reveal engine specifications and pricing details of the Sierra at a later date.
