The 2026 Honda CBR150R has made its way to the Malaysian market in a new avatar. This latest version of the Honda model has been introduced in a fresh and elegant Stealth Black shade that looks like it has been designed to turn heads everywhere the bike goes. With this, Honda continues to refine its entry-level supersport lineup globally while the model still remains absent in India. The update confirms the bike's increasing relevance in the Southeast Asia market where the demand for fully-faired 150cc machines continue to remain constant. As for India, where the segment is lead by the likes of the Yamaha R15, the CBR150R's consistent upgrades abroad highlight a missed opportunity and raise questions about whether Honda will bring the model here.
Stealth Black Edition: What Has Changed
For 2026, the Honda CBR150R does not receive mechanical or feature upgrades. The key update is the introduction of a new Stealth Black paint scheme which replaces brighter dual-tone options with a cleaner and darker finish. The styling remains unchanged including the sharp fairing, sculpted fuel tank as well as twin LED headlamp setup that gives it a big-bike-like appearance.
The motorcycle continues with its aggressive yet usable ergonomics. The clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs offer a sporty riding triangle but not to the extent of compromising daily usability. This balance has been a consistent part of the CBR150R’s positioning in Southeast Asian markets.
Engine, Output And Hardware Details
The bike continues to be powered by a 149.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 16.1 hp of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and benefits from an assist and slipper clutch as it tends to improve rideability in traffic as well as during quick downshifts.
On the hardware front, the CBR150R uses upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Other notable features include full LED lighting, an all-digital LCD instrument cluster along with emergency stop signal (ESS) which activates hazard lights under hard braking. The kerb weight stands at around 139 kg and makes it relatively light for a fully faired motorcycle.

Price And What It Means For India
In Malaysia, the 2026 Honda CBR150R Stealth Black Edition is priced at RM 13,399 which translates to roughly Rs 3.14 lakh before taxes and import duties. This positions it above most 150cc motorcycles currently sold in India.
For Indian buyers, the bigger takeaway is Honda’s strategy. While rivals like the Yamaha R15 continue to evolve in India, Honda has kept the CBR150R out of the market. Given its pricing in Malaysia and the level of hardware on offer, a direct import would make it significantly more expensive.
Unless Honda opts for localisation, the chances of this model returning to India remain limited. However, its continued updates abroad suggest that the platform is still relevant and could be reconsidered if demand for premium small-capacity sportbikes grows further.
