Nissan India has postponed the launch of its upcoming Nissan Gravite MPV, which was scheduled to make its first presence in the country on January 21. The company has also confirmed that the launch event
has been rescheduled and new dates will be announced soon.
The Nissan Gravite in India will be positioned as an affordable seven-seater MPV and it will compete directly with the Renault Triber, which is currently one of the most popular and budget friendly MPVs in the country.
The Gravite is an important launch for Nissan India as it marks the brand’s entry into a new mass-market segment. Right now, the Nissan Magnite is the only major model sold by the brand in India. The Gravite was officially confirmed in December 2025 and is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to expand its product lineup and strengthen its presence in the Indian market.The Gravite is built on Nissan’s CMF-A+ platform, which is the same architecture used by the Renault Triber and Kwid, a platform which is known for being cost-effective while still offering good space and safety for small and compact vehicles.
Nissan Gravite MPV - Design
Although Nissan has not fully revealed the Gravite’s design, but the brand has shared a preview that gives us some idea of what to expect. This MPV will follow Nissan’s latest global design language, which will feature a sleek headlamp setup and a hood scoop-like element on the bonnet.
Nissan Gravite MPV - Interior and Features
The details about the interior are still under wraps, but the Gravite is expected to share several new and updated features. Buyers can expect a three-row seating layout, providing the car as a 5-seater, 6-seater or 7-seater, depending on the requirement.
Expected features include a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, cooled storage in the centre console, with sliding and reclining second-row seats. These features will make the Gravite practical for daily city use as well as long family trips.

Nissan Gravite MPV - Engine and Performance
Powering the Nissan Gravite is likely to be a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which will produce 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options are expected to have a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT (automated manual transmission).
What’s Next for Nissan?
After the Gravite, Nissan further plans to launch the Tekton SUV, which has already been teased multiple times. The brand is also expected to end 2026 with a new seven-seater SUV.
