The Indian mid-capacity motorcycle segment is heating up and two big names are right in the spotlight , which are Royal Enfield and Harley-Davidson. Their roadsters, the Guerrilla 450 and the X440 T, target
riders who want more power than a 350cc bike but still need something practical for everyday riding. While both sit close in price, they offer very different riding experiences.
Price Check
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 starts at Rs 2.56 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it the more affordable option of the two. The Harley-Davidson X440 T comes in slightly higher at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). While the Harley costs more, it also positions itself as a premium, relaxed cruiser-style motorcycle.

Engine and Performance
The Guerrilla 450 uses the modern 452cc liquid-cooled Sherpa engine, the same platform which is seen on the Himalayan 450. It produces around 40 bhp and 40 Nm, which makes it quicker and more energetic. With a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, it feels sporty and can comfortably hit speeds close to 140 kmph. Riders also get Performance and Eco riding modes.
Whereas, the Harley-Davidson X440 T, on the other hand, uses a 440cc air-oil cooled engine that makes 27.37 bhp and 38 Nm. Though it looks less powerful, but, the torque comes early, which makes city riding smooth and stress-free. Its character is relaxed, not aggressive, and it has a top speed of 135 kmph.
Ride Comfort and Handling
The Guerrilla 450 feels like a modern roadster, as it has upside-down front forks, a mono-shock rear suspension and 17-inch wheels with wide tyres. It feels lighter, more agile and exciting on twisty roads, though the stiffer setup may feel slightly firm on tough roads.
The X440 T is built for comfort, as its upright seating, wider handlebar and softer suspension make it ideal for longer rides. It is heavier at 192 kg, but that weight adds stability on highways.
Features and Technology
Royal Enfield offers a TFT display (variant dependent), LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and optional navigation. The Harley counters with ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, switchable ABS, and a premium-looking TFT console on higher trims.
Choose the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 if you want strong performance, modern technology and a fun riding experience that works for both city and highway use. And pick the Harley-Davidson X440 T if you prefer comfort, relaxed cruising, premium feel, and everyday usability, backed by Harley’s growing service network in India.
