While no details have been confirmed about the new Tesla car, reports suggest that it could be the low-cost EV that Elon Musk has promised in the past few years. In terms of the teaser visuals, we can see a pair of new LED headlamps that are different from anything that Tesla currently sells. In the other teaser, we can spot a Tesla logo in the middle of what looks like a wheel hub before it starts to spin.

Why A Cheaper Tesla Now?
2025 would be the perfect time for Tesla to unveil an all-new electric car, as the manufacturer is reportedly facing dwindling sales for its electric cars across global markets. If it is the low-cost model that Tesla has been promising to bring for years, then it would help the EV maker compete in important markets such as China, where it is facing tough competition from domestic brands. The new low-cost Tesla EV would also be a great candidate for the price-conscious Indian market, where Tesla has recently entered.

Based on the cryptic teasers shared on Tesla's X handle, the new electric car will be unveiled on October 7, 2025. It remains to be seen if the new EV will only be announced for the US market or if it will be available in global markets from the start. Considering the starting price of Rs 59.89 lakh ex-showroom for the Model Y in India, we would hope that Tesla shows haste in bringing a more affordable electric car into the country soon. With competition in the EV space rising, having a contender in the Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh range could be a gamechanger for the American EV maker.
